Thursday, June 25 - Graeber visit day #3

Ever since our first week in Sevilla when we saw the boats going up and down the river, Rosa has said that she wants to take them at some point.  Then, when we found out that the Graeber's were visiting, Rosa said the time to take the boat was when Eliza was in town.  And so, we set off to do just that on Thursday.  We started with a bus ride to Torre del Oro where we then bought our tickets.

The boat from afar.

The boat up close with Owen, Rosa, Cody, Devon, and Eliza ready to get on.

Sitting on the top deck.  Now it's Devon sitting next to Owen.

Here's a view of another of these boats in front of the Torre del Oro.  The Torre del Oro is now a museum that Cody would like to visit one day this summer.

A view from across the river at the pirate ship playground.

Back on land.
After the boat ride we ate lunch nearby and then bussed back to the apartment for siesta.

That night we'd arranged for a babysitter so the adults could have a double date.

Our first stop was a drink on top of El Corte Ingles.

Next it was drinks on the rooftop of the Eme Hotel across from the cathedral.  Thank you Katherine for this fabulous suggestion.  Jim - loved watching you try Carla's wine.

More views of the super interesting roof.

Wow!  Multiple couple shots in one evening.

Next we wandered into the Santa Cruz neighborhood and stopped outdoors for tapas at Casa Placido Bar Tapas.

Afterwards we saw this restaurant, Restaurante San Marco Santa Cruz, which might be fun to try one evening.

Our night wasn't over yet.  Our next stop was at a real local's place, La Fresquita, around the corner from the boys' classmate Enrique's home.  His mom had said that it's one of their favorites.  It was great!
That wasn't all.  On our way back, we stopped at a bar in Alfalfa Plaza for another drink.  The tables were cleared around us and the lights turned off and we got the hint to head on home a bit past midnight.  What a great date night!

  1. Alise, you could start a business touring American travelers around Sevilla!
