Thursday, July 9

The kids and I actually made it out of the apartment.  We took a bus to Puerta Jereza and then an underground train to Nervion mall to see the movie Tinkerbell and the Legend of the Beast, in Spanish.  The travel was a huge part of the adventure.  This mall has loads of indoor space (typical of a mall) and outdoor space which included a playground on the top floor and on the ground level.  We were the only people seeing our movie.  Rosa was a bit freaked out by that.  I thought it was great, because it meant the kids could talk and not disturb others.  I was thrilled that we understood enough of the movie in Spanish to enjoy it.

The mall backs onto the soccer stadium for one of two of Sevilla's soccer teams:  Sevilla Futbol Club.

Scott made it here to see 2 fun-filled games.

We had lunch at TGI Friday's.  The kids were thrilled to have kids meals that included sodas (they had Fanta - their favorite).

We sat under a Colorado license plate.

Close up.

Afterwards they played at the Burger King playground on the top level.

And then at the playground outside on the ground level.

They had fun, but I'm not a mall person and I'd be okay not to return.  Though, it was great to be surrounded by A/C for hours and yet not be confined to the apartment.

Dinner was meant to be at the magic dessert place, but it's closed until the end of the month.  Luckily, I'd found a new to us restaurant on my way back from pilates and so we went there.  It was fantastic!

El Gallinero de Sandra

Gallinero means henhouse and the decorations certainly made it look like one.

On our way home we saw this tapas restaurant with this menu.  We hope to go there at some point.

And some intricate carving.
What a nice day.
