Sunday, June 28

On our date night with the Graeber's, we'd seen a restaurant near the cathedral that served more of an American breakfast (eggs).  The typical Sevillan breakfast is toast.  And so we decided to check it out on Sunday morning.

Antigua Taberna

We chose to sit inside, as we do at most restaurants, to get as much AC as possible.

We loved the atmosphere.

And the woodwork.

Devon snuggled with me.

I was happy to have eggs and veggies for breakfast.

Cody and Rosa.
After breakfast, we decided to wander around on foot and explore before the day heated up too much.
While walking, we saw this restaurant which is open all day (a rarity).  We'd like to check it out sometime.  El Baratillo.

We peeked into the bull ring and then crossed the bridge to Triana.  There we first stopped at the market.  I'd never been in there.  We picked out some beautiful flowers.  Then we walked up a pedestrian street.  With all of the meandering we've done over the past 3.5 months, I'd yet to see these sites and yet they're probably only 20 minutes away by foot from our apartment.  At that point the kids wanted to go home.  Devon and Rosa chose to go home via the closest bridge, and Scott took them that way.  Cody wanted to go via another bridge, and so we had a blondie date.  I loved the time with Cody.  But first, we checked out some pottery shops and saw a neat archeological museum, Museo Del Castillo De San Jorge, when we popped in to use the facilities.

Triana is known for producing beautiful tiles, often called azulejos.

Back at the apartment later that day, Devon loved hanging out in his bathrobe.
