Today marks 4 months of being in Spain. Wow!
Most of the day was a pajama day. We finally made it out around 4pm. The boys went with Scott to the Alameda to play in the fountains and Rosa and I went on our first ever run together. It was wonderful! It also happened to be my first run in Spain. Silly me, because we're right by the river and miles and miles of fabulous running paths. It was a locura, though, because while the day was cooler than others, it was still crazy hot.

While on our run we saw this turtle on the path. |
 |
Another view of it. It was about 10 feet away from the river. |
 |
After our run, we walked to meet up with Scott and the boys. We passed by this fountain and cooled off in its mist. |
We all realized that it was "locuro" (ridiculously crazy) to be out at that time of day (5pm-ish). The hottest time of day is 7pm. So we returned to the apartment and watched a movie in the AC.
At 8:30 we left to meet up with Cody's best friend from school, Maria. We tried meeting at a favorite Italian restaurant,
El Jueves. But, it was closed. Loads of the restaurants and shops are on abbreviated summer hours and/or closed for July and August. Plan B was a return trip to a Mexican restaurant called
Amanacer that's on the Alameda and across from the bigger kids playground. We ate inside to take advantage of the AC.

While Maria was Cody's BFF, she was a great friend with all 3 of our kids Friday night! |
After dinner we sat outside while the kids played. They had so much fun playing and getting each other wet with water from the water fountain. And it seems as if since that night they've all been enjoying summer that much more. Thank you Maria and mama Natalia for a wonderful evening! We hope to repeat it!
