The 4th of July is a bit different in another country. No fireworks for us. And it wasn't our tradition of staying at our condo in Dillon, going to the parade in Breckenridge, and seeing the Klibaner's. That being said, we had a great day.
 |
We started by walking across the bridge to the tourist section of Cordoba. There were a number of kayakers on the water. |
 |
We ate indoors in the restaurant's courtyard. The waiter was adorable and super attentive. We enjoyed it so much, we returned the following morning for breakfast. |
Rosa's ears were hurting, so she and I went off in search of a pharmacy while the rest of the gang entered the
mezquita. This is a mosque, now church, that we'd visited earlier in our Spain stay. It's stunning, and a place that we'd revisit again and again. There are loads of pictures of this stunning beauty.

Grandma Carol and Rosa. |

Rosa wanted to return to this room of gold. |
 |
Lots of pictures of columns. |
 |
Rosa got sick of me saying this word. So I said it as often as possible to get a rise out of her. |
After the mezquita and a visit to the
synagogue, the rest of the gang returned to the hotel for a swim.
I toured the
Casa de Sefarad. What a treat.
 |
As I was walking around, I found this street along with a recipe for Salmorejo, one of my favorite new foods. |
We accidentally swam and rested during Spanish lunchtime, and then when we wanted to eat, all of the restaurants were closed. Still, we hung out at the hotel restaurant with drinks and nuts.
Then it was time to head across the bridge for dinner. The rest of the gang went to the fabulous playground for a bit while I went on the challenging journey of finding a restaurant that had pesto pasta on the menu and loads of AC. It was 8 o'clock at night and 100 degrees. So the journey was a slow and hot one.
