Saturday, May 16

Saturday morning Scott made French toast for breakfast and then we took the bus down to Plaza de America in Parque de Maria Luisa.  There's an archaelogical museum there where we poked our heads into.  We plan to go back and visit it another time.

From there, Devon grabbed the grandparents' Rosenberg's hands to bring the to one of his favorite playgrounds.

Scott, Cody, and Rosa followed.

A view back to the Museo Arqueologico de Sevilla.

Another beautiful jacaranda tree in full bloom.

After the first playground of the day, we started walking through the park.  Here's Rosa under a lion statue.

Now Cody is under a lion statue and Rosa is snuggling with it.

Rosa snapping photos.

Another picture of the adults looking on as the kids play in playground #2 for the day.

Rosa, Devon, and Cody on top of a play train.

Back to Plaza de Espana, one of our favorite places to go in Sevilla.

Along the lower level are tiles depicting different regions around Spain.
Central Sevilla with the Guadalquivir river.  We've learned that the maps in Sevilla are oriented with East on top because the sun rises from the east.

After visiting the park, we started walking towards the university area to have lunch.  Along the way we ran into a friend of Rosa's from school and her dad.  They were on their way to the science museum.  Her dad grew up in Sevilla, but he and her mom both teach at the Indiana University.  They're on a sabbatical here this spring and summer as they were last year, as well.  He recommended a place to try for lunch that was really close by called Restaurante Oriza.  It was a great suggestion.

Cody ate anchovies for the 2nd day in a row.

Later that day Scott was busy cleaning the floors in the apartment.  I noticed the cleaning solution.  It looks like "Mr. Clean", doesn't it?  In fact it is.  But in Spanish it's called "Don Limpio".

Later that afternoon Scott took the 3 kids to one of the local Chinese stores and they all bought trash baskets for their rooms.  They were so excited to do this.  And they all loved walking home with them on their heads.

That night we all went out to dinner at another restaurant we've been wanting to try, Az-Zait.  It was wonderful.  Each dish was served on a different type of plate.  This "Rock of Gibraltar" is what Rosa's chicken skewers were served in.

On our way home that night we stopped at the "brokenn playground".  It's a playground in a plaza near our house.  It's fenced off, and since we've been here, it's been locked.  It was finally open and the kids were super excited to give it a try.

Big smiles everywhere.
