Sunday, May 10

Sunday was the US Mother's Day.  It had been Spain's Mother's Day the week before, and the kids had all made cards in their classes.

Rosa took it to another level.  She put my gift in a box, wrapped it, and decorated the box.  Love love love her!
Inside the box I found these 2 pictures (I love the way Rosa is drawing mouths nowadays) and a coupon booklet.  Later that day Rosa and my mom performed one of the coupons, cleaning the house.  Thank you!  They did an amazing job!

I put the gifts up in the living room shelves.  You can see Rosa's yarn creation as well.
We all headed out and had breakfast while walking down to Real Alcazar.  This is a royal palace.  Like other main tourist sites in Sevilla, it's one that I figured we'd visit once and that'd be that.  So, we'd saved it for visitors and had the pleasure to enter it with my parents.  I enjoyed it so much, that I plan to return.  There are a number of pictures to peruse below of both the inside areas and the gardens.  Enjoy!  And then there are more pictures of our day.  Scroll down to Rosa's bowl of spaghetti to resume the day.

A lower level swimming pool was here back in the original days of this palace.  What a great idea!

After the Real Alcazar, we had lunch nearby.

Rosa with a very large plate of spaghetti bolognese.

And then we headed to one of our favorite places in Sevilla, the Plaza de Espana and the Parque Maria Luisa.

The moms on mother's day, at Plaza de Espana.
Devon wanted to join Grammy and I for the picture.
Scott and the boys headed over to a Chinese restaurant and ordered dim sum take out for dinner.  It was such a special treat, and quite delicious.
Scott reading to the boys, while lying in Cody's bed.  Aunt Bonnie, the people from the Black Lagoon books you sent are such a huge hit.  Both boys request all of them each night.  Sometimes they allow us to read to both of them at the same time.
