After another breakfast of pancakes, Team Lawrence headed into town for more sightseeing.
Along the 10-minute drive, we saw a playground and pulled over to play. Here are Cody, Rosa, and Devon. |
Now they're on a different part of the largish playground. |
Scott took the fire pole down. |
Devon and Cody swinging. |
Rosa contemplating the pole. |
It's always better with Papa. Notice Scott's bracelet. Thinking of you Aunt Liz. |
After the playground we drove through town and down the hill to go on a little hike. Here's a view up to the new bridge. |
Parked and ready for a little hike. |
Gorgeous! |
Tried to get the kids to pose with Scott for a picture. |
They ran away. |
Cody posed with us. |
Family pic! |
Then we met the Doyle's for lunch in Plaza Maria Auxiliadora. |
We ate outdoors. |
Afterwards, Rosa walked around with Anya and Jessie. So sweet! |
Phil hung out with his girls for a bit. |
Rosa, Anya, and Jessie explored. |
Meanwhile, the boys were playing with sticks and at a fountain. After a little running around, the Doyle's headed back to the house for nap and quiet time.
And we headed down the hill for another little hike. |
There were some steep parts. |
Another view of the new bridge. |
And another with the waterfall. |
Cody and Devon. |
Rosa making a face. |
Scott, Devon, and Cody heading back up the hill. |
We went back to our lunchtime restaurant for a cold treat. |
Nice wine selection. |
Fresh orange juice maker. |
After a little more exploring, it was time to head back to the house for a dip in the pool. First, we stopped at a grocery store to pick up food for dinner.
We bought hake (merluza) and the fishmonger filleted it and took of the skin. |
Here are some of the animals along the drive back to the rural house where we stayed. |
And more animals. |
Later that afternoon Suzi and I were able to escape together to go back into town for a little bit of time away from kids and time together with each other. What a treat. We wandered around and saw this beautiful horse and carriage that looked ready for a wedding couple. |
It's in front of the bullfighting ring. |
A map of Ronda and some hikes nearby. |
Lists of nearby hikes. |
Pretty fountain near where we'd had lunch the previous day. |
Suzi and I stopped for a cold drink in a plaza where we could people watch and chat a bit. And then it was back to the house where the guys grilled (this time with the help of Cody and Devon) and we ate outdoors again.
Suzi's birthday is in a few days, so we sang happy birthday to her and gave her a cake. There was also ice cream. No shortage of desserts. Rosa and Suzi had another ice cream eating contest. This one was to see who could eat their ice cream the slowest in the heat. It seemed to be a tie.
