I met the new British friend, Katherine, and her daughter for coffee by Alameda de Hercules. It was wonderful.
Then, for lunch, Cody chose to get sandwiches from the bakery in the tunnel we often walk through on the way to or from school. We ate them at the mushroom and then the kids had playing there.
Later that afternoon I met with a mom from the boys' class (Pilar) to have coffee and have her practice her English. We'll meet again and I'll also have the chance to practice my Spanish. Even just speaking in English, I'm learning so much more about the culture. Plus, Pilar is incredibly nice and helpful.
When I picked up the kids at school, Cody was not himself. He wasn't standing up straight and he said his whole body hurt. When I gently touched his stomach, he cringed. And his hands were cold and clammy despite the heat. So, we walked as far as Plaza del Duque and took a taxi home. It was the first time doing this. He immediately laid down in the living room and we put on some tv for him and Devon while Rosa did homework. Luckily, after some rest and dinner, he was back to himself.
That night we ate home cooked balsamic chicken and Scott had his weekly call for the Alaska project.
