On Sunday we picked up a bus across the street from our place and took it through the Triana neighborhood to Parque los Principes. This was our 2nd visit to this park and a park that we really like. And now knowing that we can easily get there by bus, we'll probably go there more often during the heat of the summer (since we can enjoy the bus' AC and the park's tree coverage). The kids had a blast on all of the different playgrounds there.

The kids found water fountains and they were amused and happily wet for quite some time playing with the water. Plus, they found some English-speaking kids with whom they played. |

Three kids and a water fountain. |

Beautiful trees in the park. |

An orange tree still full of oranges. |

The grandparents look on to the water fun. |

Jacaranda trees in the distance. |

And Devon's on the run with Grandpa Fred and Grammy in pursuit. |
Afterwards we headed by foot by the Feria de Abril fairgrounds (now just a skeleton of what it was just a month ago) and across the bridge at Plaza de Cuba and then we went our separate ways.

We had incredible service and yummy food. Rosa and Cody kept company with Scott. |
We've been curious about the floor above us. There are 2 locked doors. One door has a warning sign indicating that there is high powered voltage behind it. The other door has a sign reminding people to lock the door behind them so that animals don't get inside the building. We found a key in our kitchen and it worked to open this door. And, voila, the rooftop was open to us. There are a number of clothes drying lines and some beautiful views. We all had fun running around up there.
That night, being a Sunday, was simple dinner at home and then off to bed early-ish. Dinner included pesto pasta. I'd just found pesto in the store. It didn't taste the way we're used to it tasting, so my search continues for this favorite family food. I'd love to find some that the kids like so I can keep it on hand at home.
