Thursday, April 23

Thursday the kids and I had a slow morning and then we walked down Goles to Alfonso XII and into the tourist area.  We were on the hunt to buy another birthday gift for Teagan, but I also just wanted to meander.  We walked down some neat streets and then stopped for lunch in a touristy section. Everyone ate (something that can be hit or miss with the kids).  Afterwards I treated them to croissants and myself to another cafe con leche.

Then we found a new to us store and found a gift and 3 balls the kids bought for themselves thanks to Easter money from great grandparents Annie & Poppy.

On the way back to the apartment we bought some groceries in the basement of El Corte Ingles.

A little bit later our American friends arrived.  Jennie had a nail salon going and I did a lot of ironing. I rarely iron, so when I do, it take forever.  I needed your help Uncle Joe.

Once Scott arrived home from work, we ate dinner at the apartment, got dolled up, and headed to Feria.

Here's a picture of our 5 dresses waiting to be worn.  So colorful and bouncy.
As we were getting ready, we had an accident in our living room.  Our coffee table had a glass top, matching our dining room table top.  In the DR, it's connected.  But the coffee table was no longer connected.   In all of the excitement, the top moved and slid off and crashed into hundreds of little pieces and a few big pieces.  Scott cleaned it all up while the rest of us finished getting ready.
Molly - remember our before pictures in college?  Here's our before picture before the 8 of us headed out for the night.  This is taken in our courtyard.

Where oh where is Rosa's mouth?

Brynnlee, Rosa, Cody and I heading down the street to catch the bus.
Then we crossed the street and waited for a bus.

The girls were so ready.

Jennie took this picture with her rearview camera.  Talent.
Crossing the bridge after hopping off the bus.

The entrance to the fairgrounds reminded us of the Disney castle.
Here are a bunch of pictures from the night.

Me.  Huge earrings are part of the traditional costume.

Selfie.  Yay!

Another picture of Scott and I.  Love it!

And another.

And another.  Love Rosa's pose and Devon enjoying his own fan.

We were invited to the casita of our babysitter and her family.  It's also a triple-wide.  She was so generous to invite us.  We enjoyed sitting down, enjoying some drinks, listening to music, and watching people dance.

Here's another picture of the fairgrounds entryway.

Enjoying drinks.

At the end of the night, Jennie rode in a taxi with the 3 girls and Scott rode in one with Devon.  Cody and I took a bus home.  We caught it just steps away from the taxi stand, but it circled the city center the opposite way that we needed.  Poor Cody had insisted on the bus, but he was so tired.  When we were finally almost home, he just couldn't stay awake any longer and he fell asleep on my lap.  Luckily he woke up when we got to our stop.  Rosa loved having the girls sleepover.  It was another late night where tuck-ins happened after midnight.
