Parque Jardin del Guadalquivir
We started our adventures around 11;30am by walking across the river on the bridge just south of us (Pasareja La Caruja).
There were a number of rowers on the river practicing. Most seemed to be high school age. |
On the other side of the river we walked through the Jardin Botanico Americano through to the Parque Jardin del Guadalquivir. |
Just north of the garden and next to another bridge is Magic Island. It's an amusement park that's open in the summer. We'll surprise the kids by treating them to go there some day this summer. |
We walked along the Puente de la Barqueta bridge on the way back to our closest playground. From there Scott took this picture of the next bridge north that was designed by a Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava who also designed the hotel (Westin) currently being built at the Denver airport. |
After lunch at the apartment, we headed north to a playground that the kids had seen a few days earlier when we'd journeyed by car to Costco to stock up. The playground had some rides that day which was a huge highlight.
We feel we've been doing a very nice job of spoiling the kids with loads of playgrounds and play time. It's part of our trick to then walk them everywhere as we explore.

Here's a picture of one of hundreds of amazing courtyards we've seen. There are 2 orange trees in the back. |
There was a festival taking place in Alameda de Hercules over the weekend. Here's one of the food stalls. Yummy! |
And another |
It was a Roman festival. Here's a picture of some men dressed up as Roman gladiators. |
